Buconazole nitrate is an imidazole derivative with antifungal activity. As imidazole antifungal drug, buconazole nitrate is mainly used in the treatment of vaginal candidiasis. White to almost white crystalline powder, slightly soluble in methanol, slightly soluble in chloroform, dichloromethane, acetone, ethanol, very soluble in ethyl acetate, almost insoluble in water. It melts at about 159°C with decomposition.

 Pharmacological effects of buconazole nitrate The antimicrobial spectrum of buconazole nitrate is similar to that of other imidazoles. It has antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria, but not against gram-negative bacteria. It has good antibacterial activity against Aspergillus fungi and candida. In vitro, it has inhibitory effect on candida, Trichophenia, microspora and trichophenia epidermis, and also has certain inhibitory effect on some gram-positive bacteria.
