Hamamelis tannin, a polyphenol extracted from the bark of Hamamelis virginiana, is a quorum sensing (QS) inhibitor. Hamamelis tannin increases antibiotic sensitivity of S. aureus biofilms by affecting peptidoglycan biosynthesis and eDNA release.
